Group .BR first original and site specific production demanded a second run after sold out performances in 2013. The show happened in a bar, Nublu in 2013 and Studio 151 in 2014, inviting the audience to sit at tables, drink, savor Brazilian appetizers while seeing the life and works of Vinicius de Moraes unfold before them. Vinicius is a Brazilian poet and composer most known for being one of the creators of Bossa Nova and it’s biggest hits such as Girl From Ipanema. Set on a real bar with a live band and a cast of 8 actors the audience felt transported to the bohemian and romantic sides of Vinicius’ Rio de Janeiro.

 

The play and it’s cast received 8 nominations to Brazilian International Press Awards, a nomination to the Inovative Theater Awards, a grant from National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC), extensive media coverage and the presence of a variety of celebrities such Sônia Braga and Heloísa Pinheiro, the girl from Ipanema herself.
